About
I'm Florian Bodewei. Artist, world builder, and the hand behind Chimera Atmosphere.
I started drawing digitally in 2019, out of pure curiosity. No plan, no goal, just the urge to try. I came across courses by artists like Trent Kaniuga and Marc Brunet, and something clicked. Watching them create worlds from nothing, I thought maybe I could do that too.
In 2021, that curiosity turned into something bigger. I enrolled in Game Design, driven by a lifelong love for games and the worlds they hold. Tetsuya Nomura and Kingdom Hearts were a huge inspiration. The idea that someone could build entire universes from scratch, filled with emotion and meaning. That's what pulled me in. Throughout my studies, I worked on projects with my team, kept learning, and spent countless hours absorbing tutorials and courses on the side. In 2025, I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Game Design.
What drives me is something hard to put into words. It's the feeling you get when you look at a 2D image, just pixels on a screen, and for a moment, it feels like a world. Not real, but alive. There's a depth to it, an atmosphere that shouldn't be possible on a flat surface. I've always loved that feeling. And at some point, I realized I didn't just want to experience it. I wanted to create it.
I know I have a long way to go. I'm still learning with every piece, every brushstroke, every world I try to build. But that's exactly why I keep going.
